Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities is a subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to the 112th Congress, it was known as the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Unconventional Threats and Capabilities.

The Emerging Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee has jurisdiction over Department of Defense counter proliferation and counter terrorism programs and initiatives Special Operations Forces; defense science and technology policy and programs, such as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency; information technology programs; as well as intelligence support and cyber operations, strategic communications, and information operations. [1]
The subcommittee is chaired by Mac Thornberry of Texas, and the Ranking Member is Jim Langevin of Rhode Island.[2] Pursuant to the committee's rules, the chairman and ranking member of the full committee may serve as ex officio members of each subcommittee.[1]
